The number one secret for getting traffic to your website

Article by Charlie Wright

I’m writing this from my Granny Flat Bunker, in the basement next door to my house.

I’m surrounded by bits of paper, notes and manuals. A hideous net curtain flaps above the laptop in front of me. Above me I can see street level and the sunshine hitting the roofs of houses opposite.

But I’m ignoring the sun, and the distant laughter of children.

I’ve far too much to do…. I’m on catch-up.

Here’s why….

It was so sunny that I couldn’t be bothered to work on Friday. I had people over all day Saturday eating my food and drinking my wine, the sods. And on Sunday everyone in the family except the dog was stricken with hangovers, colds and sniffles so we all collapsed on the sofa while the kids screamed and I poured out Calpol like it was milkshake.

Monday, it was far too hot to think. And by the time I was woken at 6:30 today by a yapping dog and yelping toddler, all the motivation had drained from me. I had a list of things to do as long as my arm – update the website, answer a zillion emails, research a new manual, write a newsletter – but I had reasons NOT to do any of them.

Kids, dogs, chores. Blah blah blah.

Do you ever get those times where you lose the point of it all?

Running your own home businesses is great. I realise I’m living ‘the dream’….

But sometimes I want to sit on a bus reading a book, get to an office where someone tells me what to do…. then sneak off for some raucous pints after hours, go home and tell the wife I was stuck in meetings.

One of my mates has FOUR kids under 3years old. He told me the other day that he was reading Moby Dick.

“How have YOU got the time to read major works of literature?” I said, “I’m so knackered I can barely concentrate on the telly.”

“I commute” he said, tapping his nose. “An hour and a half on a bus every day.” He looked really pleased with himself. His daily trudge to work has become his salvation.

Ah well, grass is always greener and all that.

Whatever the weather, here’s something great that came my way

What I love about The Biz Opp Jungle is that it’s the one business I’m involved in where people send me information of interest.

Not sure why it is, but this year more and more Biz Opp Junglers are taking the initiative and scouring the internet for the latest moneymaking techniques.

This is fantastic. Because lazy old demotivated Yours Truly gets sent a lot of the good stuff.

One of my regulars is taking a keen interest in traffic techniques…. traffic being the flow of visitors to a website, not the movement of cars on the street.

He sent me a cracking little report about it which I’m happy to pass it onto you for free in a moment.

First, let me say something on this…

In my view, getting hold of a decent collection of freebie information is ESSENTIAL if you want to get on in biz opp without forking out huge sums of cash to every ‘guru’ who wants your money.

There’s plenty of it about if you know where to look (or you have me to help you). The sort of information you can get is sometimes equal or even superior to the stuff you get in the £47 manuals that promise you the earth and deliver gravel.

Fair enough, I do get sent a lot of reports that I don’t pass on because they’re not up to scratch, but this one I like.

It’s about ways to get your website rocking up the search engines so that people know who you are and what you are selling.

This would work if you have an on online shop… a blog…. an affiliate website… an online magazine… or you’re at the stage where you’re storing your email newsletters on an archive website…. anything where you’ve got an active site where you regularly upload new items.

If that’s you, then you should take a look at this

I’ll finish with a great little line from this report….

“Think of the Internet as a wild frontier. The more land of that wild frontier that you can stake a claim to, the richer you will become. The more pages of optimized content you have, the more traffic you will get.”
Talking of websites…
