How to claim a refund on ClickBank in 5 easy steps

How to claim a refund on ClickBank

How to claim a refund on ClickBankFrom time to time I get readers writing in asking how they can claim a refund on products that they’ve bought via ClickBank…

This is for products that either weren’t right for them at the time, or that they subsequently discovered were, for want of a better word, rubbish.

If you’re not familiar with ClickBank, it’s one of the largest online digital marketplaces in the world.

You’ll almost certainly have come across it before in some shape or form. You can find everything on there from Forex trading systems and self-help guides to eBooks on how to train your pet Chihuahua.

One of the major appeals of buying products via ClickBank is that they give you a watertight 60 day refund period on any product you buy via their payment system.

ClickBank make it very easy to claim a refund, as I’m about to show you.

I’ve personally reviewed a number of ClickBank products in Insider’s Edge. Some have been very good and some have been very bad. By far the most popular product I’ve ever reviewed on ClickBank is Mike Cruickshank’s Bonus Bagging. If you haven’t taken advantage of this one yet, please do – I can’t recommend it highly enough. You can see my review here.

Naturally there are some products featured on ClickBank which don’t quite cut the mustard. If you’ve been unlucky and bagged yourself a damp squib, don’t despair – here’s how you can get your money back (provided you’re still within the 60 day refund period).

How to claim a ClickBank refund in 5 easy steps

Step 1: Click here: https://www.clkbank.com/clkbank.htm

Step 2: Fill out the details in the boxes provided

TIP: You can find your ClickBank order number on the confirmation receipt email you received when you bought the product. It will also appear on your credit card or Paypal receipt (depending on how you paid). It’s typically 8 digits long and consists of letters and numbers

Step 3: Once your order appears on the screen, click ‘Get Support’

Step 4: On the drop down menu click ‘more options’

Step 5: Click ‘refund’ and then choose the reason for your refund (along with a comment if you want to add one)

That’s it!

You should now get an email from ClickBank support telling you that your ‘ticket’ is open (check your spam if you can’t see it in your regular inbox). You don’t need to respond to this email (unless of course there’s been some sort of problem and you’re asked to).

In a few days time you’ll get another email from ClickBank confirming that your refund has been granted. How long the money will take to hit your account can vary, but it shouldn’t be more than a week or two.

Done! I hope this helps.

With ClickBank you do have a couple of other options if you want to claim a refund. You can initiate a live chat with ClickBank’s customer service team, or you can email directly to the seller and they can start the process for you.

If you’re dealing with a ‘rogue trader’ (and they do exist) then they might not be ‘responsive’ to your emails. In this instance the method detailed above is the fastest and easiest way to get your refund processed.

  1. I had 3 examples of contact with Clickbank where they were no help. They sided with the vendors who simply did not respond to my pleas for help/refund. This was some time ago, so perhaps things have changed. I reckon I lost about £150. I vowed never to purchase from a Clickbank vendor, unless it was under £20. Paypal wouldn’t interfere as it was a Clickbank/Vendor matter.

  2. I have tried unsuccessfully several times to obtain a refund on a product ordered in error (within about 6 minutes of placing the order when I realised my mistake, so far I have not been given any indication my refund is forthcoming and I explained I needed that money for accounts due and payable tomorrow and Friday. I found it necessary to cancel both orders placed seeing I was given reason to believe my request had been timed out and I am now not entitled to refunds. Please advise when I can reasonably expect both refunds as this is now urgent and I have been asking for refunds from minutes after placing the first order on 11/20/2014

    • Hi Judith, thank you for your comment and I am sorry to hear that.

Just to clarify, I’m not actually ClickBank – I’m an individual (completely separate from ClickBank) writing a ‘how to’ article about how to claim a refund on their platform.

Have you tried calling ClickBank or contacting them on their live chat facility? Details of both can be found here: https://www.clkbank.com/clkbank.htm

      I hope this helps.

  3. Hi,

I have followed your five steps, but there is no such option as “Refund”.
They have charged my AMEX an anual subscription fees two times for a software from http://www.drivertuner.com – LionSea DriverTuner™ – which I have never agreed to purchase! What I purchased was a time limited access to the software for 7 days (USD 4,90). I have sent 20 + emails to drivertuner.com, but they have just ignored me and the Clickbank is charging me annually.

Thanks for your help! Now, I hope I will be able to cancel “my”subscription and hopefully will get a refund.

  4. I AM TRYING TO GET A REFUND I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A DVD TO PLAY INSTEAD OF A DOWN LOAD WHICH I DO NOT WANT MY COMPUTER IS OLD AND SO AM I JUST WANTED SOMETHING EASY TO DO PLEASE REFUND MY REFUND OF $47. TO MY CREDIT CARD MY ORDER ******* PLEASE CANCEL EVERYTHING INCLUDING EMAIL

  5. I wish what you have stated in the above article is effectively true with ClickBank. Right now, I am in my second week struggling to get a refund that they acknowledged they have processed. Two weeks later, it is not back into my credit card account from which the order was charged. I have tried to call many times but I am always kept on recorded voice telling me that some one would be talking to me. I wrote several emails asking whether or not the refund is coming to me, still to no avail, no response from ClickBank side. As a result, I am now on the verge of believing this is a hox business entity.

To give it a second trial, I have filled the refund form online this morning asking for a refund of the second order about three weeks ago. But, your advocacy about the merit of ClickBank does not seem to hold water if not unduly exaggerated. I suggest that you retract what you have stated in this article and any other you might have written at other times. Or, you make an effort to make them live up to what they claim to be as a legitimate business organization. Thanks.

    • Hi Kebede, I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such trouble trying to get a refund via ClickBank. I’ve ordered and refunded products in the past from ClickBank and not had any problem, but it seems like some people (such as yourself) have experienced substandard service. I can assure you that they’re not a hoax business entity. They’ve been operating since 1998, process over 35,000 transactions a day and are one of the world’s largest digital marketplaces. Make sure you keep an email trail of your refund requests as well when they were sent, so that you do get through you can present what you’ve described here.
